God in His wisdom made just one —
There are not two who are the same.
We sometimes like to say in fun,
“Our only difference is our name”
But really this is not quite true –
You are not ME – I am not you.
God made just ME 0 no other one
With all my hang-ups and my faults.
Some of us ALMOST look alike –
But that’s where the resemblance halts.
We are God’s original
There is no exact counterpart.
This fact does give me quite a start.
He made some black, some white, some brown;
Made some to smile and some to frown.
He gave to some a hearty laugh,
To some the art of speaking fast.
There are the blue-eyed, golden fair,
The soft brown eyes and curly hair.
He took a little bit of this
Then added just a thought of that.
Each is a masterpiece of His
Molded with patience and with love.
Yes, God made only one of me –
And one of you, and you, and you.
He loves each one, ‘Tis plain to see,
And when we grieve Hime with our sin
He waits till we return again
And welcomes us with open arms.
He guards us daily from all harm –
He sent His son to die for us.
It’s wonderful. A mystery —.
